Sophie Mercer Bigler

Hey heyyy, I’m Sophie, and I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. At a young age, I developed a love for old movie musicals after watching “Singin’ In The Rain” for the first time, and I said, “Mom, I’m gonna do that!” Since then, I’ve fallen head-over-heels for performing, especially high energy, feel good theatre: bringing laughter, joy, and belonging to audiences while making connections with others that make life worth living!

People who have seen me perform love to describe me as a short powerhouse with a big personality and wit that won’t quit. Those who have worked with me recognize me as a very hard worker, dedicated actress, and a safe person to be around. I tend to play the witty side character, passionate leading lady, or ensemble member, sure to bring up the energy.

I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre from Utah Valley University. Some highlights from my education include playing Amy March in Little Women and being invited to perform a TYA scene from In The Garden Of The Selfish Giant at ACTF (formerly KCACTF).

Outside of playing pretend, I am passionate about sewing (sustainably!), dinosaurs, Legos, and collecting vinyl records. But most of all, I love spending my evenings watching TV, cuddled up with my husband, Kevin! Let’s work together!
